  1. Coca Cola is probably the best known brand on the planet, so when I came across this parody is was very easy to see the issue being raised.

It seems to scream, How much control is too much control.
My second example is pretty close to my heart as it has been and still is a character in my life. I am sure that each and every person on the planet will know what you are refering to if you say, “I’m cuckoo for coco puffs. The message is really clear here:

These two are examples of parodies as I understand them, I believe them to be political in nature aimed at some sort of ridiculous mandate of legislation.

  2. In the image I chose, Disney and McDonalds are parodied through their association with children. The artist Bansky shows the two company mascots (Ronald McDonald and Mickey Mouse) holding hands with a child from a famous photograph, nude and crying in the middle of the Vietnam war. Perhaps the artist’s intent is to show that these American companies are used to exploit foreign nations behind a facade of family oriented friendliness.

  3. I particularly enjoy this parody of Rene Magritte’s painting “Son of Man”. Magritte was known for his surrealist thought-provoking paintings. His “Son of Man” is probably one of his most recognizable pieces. What makes his original piece so appealing is the choice of a green apple in front of a a man’s face, the apple seemingly floating in midair.

Regardless of Magritte’s intention for the painting itself, and abandoning all preconceptions and notions of what the apple might represent, such a scene would be quite bizarre to a bystander. In reality an apple could not sustain itself in air for a long period of time. The parody thus takes this idea that an apple cannot stay in the air for a long time and instead makes the apple a thrown object. This creates a funny alternative to Magritte’s painting because of how simply and effectively it is done.

  4. What makes this image a parody is that they used the pepsi logo in place of a person’s body form. However, the body type is bigger than usual, implying that the soda makes people gain weight. It is a classic and simple parody logo.

  5. This one particular image is hilarious in it’s depiction of the logo. The image is of the “Diet Coke” logo, and simply changes it to “Diet Joke.” Now, is this logo creative? No. And did the man or woman who made it try very, very hard? Probably not. But it is still a very direct criticism of Diet Coke, which claims to be diet, but is clearly a joke in the sense that Diet Coke is just so bad for you. It’s not creative in the slightest, but it is extremely accurate in its depiction and delivers its point with a bang.

  6. I really like this image, because I was in the military and I have lost so many packages from these guys it was unbelievable. They paid me back for my lost packages, but I have heard and seen lots of other people who have had the same issue with these guys.

  7. okie, so this was one parody i found when i was looking.
it’s a play on how unhealthy fast food is, in this case the artist used burger king.
by replacing the words “burger” with “murder” the logo implies that the products are unhealthy.
it’s rather simple, but it get’s the point across.

  8. this is for phone logo , its saying how we all get togeter in bars drinking & conversing with each other , the more you drink the more you talk all night .
